The project
My Favorites is an in-progress personal and family project created to give Jen a welcoming place to share the products, services, destinations and experiences she genuinely enjoys. It is intended for family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and other readers looking for candid personal recommendations rather than anonymous reviews.
The creative direction combines warm editorial styling with an approachable, optimistic colour palette and imagery inspired by everyday beauty, music and travel. Jen’s Trinidadian roots and life in Canada give the project a personal perspective, including a goal of highlighting exceptional Canadian and Trinidadian discoveries when they earn a place among her favourites.
The custom WordPress experience includes structured product pages, hierarchical categories and subcategories, five-factor ratings, affiliate-ready purchasing links, accounts, saved wishlists, comments and community product suggestions. An optional guessing game lets visitors test whether they think a featured product is Canadian, with animated feedback and a pathway for recommending alternatives.
